• Building Games
    • Q: How do I build my own game in the Cartoon Network Game Creator 2?
    • A: Just click on the BUILD NOW button at the top of the home screen or the CREATE button on the upper right screen, and Game Creator 2 and the interactive tutorial will automatically start if this is your first time to create a game. You can re-activate the interactive tutorial later on by clicking the (?) Question Mark button while in Create Mode.
    • Q: Do I need an account to build games?
    • A: You don't need an account to build a game, but you do need an account to save your game, create multiple games, and send games to the Cartoon Network gallery for everyone to play. Once you have an account and log in, you can keep track of all the games you build, and you can see how many people play your games and what they think of them.
    • Q: How do I get an account and log in?
    • A: Click the login link at the top of the screen or in the Your Games section on the left side of the screen. It will give you the option to log in (if you already have an account) or register (if you don't have an account yet.).
    • Q: Why is the screen blank?
    • A: In Game Creator 2, you will always start from scratch with a blank screen. This is to allow you complete control over how you create your game.
    • Q: How do I pick a background/hero/goal?
    • A: When designing your levels, you can use the drop-down menus on the left side of the Create-Mode Screen. Use the left and right arrow buttons on the lower left of the screen to navigate through the pages in each section.
    • Q: Oops! I made a mistake! How do I fix it?
    • A: You can click on the eraser tool and then click on anything you want to erase from your game. You can also choose to start over from scratch by choosing, [File -->New] to create a whole new level.
    • Q: Can I erase the hero or the goal?
    • A: Every game must have a hero and a goal, because it's impossible to win without them. If you attempt to erase either of them, the game will remind you that both are required to play test your game.
    • Q: I finished designing my game... now what?
    • A: You will need to TEST your game to see if it plays the way you want it to. You can do this by going to [File-->Test] or by pressing the TEST LEVEL button under the minimap.
    • Q: Why do I have to test and win the games I build?
    • A: This lets you try out all the elements in your game and make sure it's actually possible to win the game. This is also a requirement if you want to share your games to the gallery.
    • Q: How do I control my hero?
    • A: All the heroes use the same controls:
The control arrows are used to move the character. Left and Right moves the character respectively. Up and down allow the character to ascend or descend down ladders. Jumping is done with the Z key. Attacks are launched with the X key. Double tapping Down allows the character to drop down a row of tiles to the level below.
    • Q: I built a game, but I can't get past the testing step because I can't win it. What do I do now?
    • A: It is possible you have made a game that just might be too difficult to play. Try using the Eraser tool to reduce the challenges present. At worst, you can always choose to start over.
    • Q: I finished testing my game but i want to make some changes.
    • A: Simply click on the EDIT LEVEL button found on the upper right side of the game window to return to Create-Mode and make those changes.
    • Q: How do I pick a background/hero/goal?
    • A: When designing your levels, you can use the drop-down menus on the left side of the Create-Mode Screen. Use the left and right arrow buttons on the lower left of the screen to navigate through the pages in each section.
    • Q: How do I choose a name for my game?
    • A: When you are done testing your game, you will be given a chance to name it. Be sure to avoid using any questionable words. :-) Give it a short and awesome name... preferably not longer than 20 characters.
    • Q: I didn't have time to finish building my game, but I have to leave my computer now. Will I lose all my work?
    • A: You can always save your game by clicking on [File --> Save].
There are differences if you are logged in or not.
Logged in: You will be allowed to name the level when you save it. You can click [File --> Load] later to resume designing the level.
No Account/Not Logged in: The game will temporarily save for that session only, but if you close your browser or reset your computer, you cannot reload it using [File -->Load].

    • Q: How do I rate games?
    • A: Each game will have two ratings: Game Rating and Difficulty Rating.
Everyone who plays the game can give it a Game Rating of one to five stars, depending on how much they liked the game. A five star rating means you really liked the game. You can also rate the difficulty of the game with a rating of green, yellow, or red orbs, with red orbs for very challenging games. As you browse through the gallery, you can see the average rating and average difficulty other players have given games
    • Q: How do I share games with my friends?
    • A: There are many ways players can share the games they've built. • Q: What if I see a game that has inappropriate content?
    • A: All created games are first submitted to moderation before being approved. While it's highly unlikely you'll find anything inappropriate in a game, if you do, you can alert Cartoon Network by clicking on the red FLAG AS INAPPROPRIATE button in the lower left of the game window.
